Defense Meteorological Satellite Program – U.S. Air Force meteorologi¬cal satellite program with satellites circling in sun-synchronous orbit. Imagery is collected in the visible- to near-infrared band (0.4 to 1.1 μm) and in the thermal-infrared band (about 8 to 13 μm) at a resolution of about 3 km.
